I started to research masks from many societies in order to find inspiration and imagery for my paintings. I thought it would be interesting to juxtapose different masks from different cultures. I also started to experiment with different fabrics and translucency so that light could be projected from behind or so that the paintings could be illuminated. J’ai commencé à faire des recherches sur les masques des différentes sociétés de faÁon à trouver l’inspiration et des idées de représentation pour mes tableaux. J’ai pensé qu’il serait intéressant de superposer différents masques de différentes cultures. J’ai aussi essayé díautres types de tissus et d’autres effets de transparence, ainsi la lumière pourrait provenir de derrière ou de devant.
