During my research for the Last Supper painting, I stumbled across a tradition of depicting the Vices and Virtues, which turned out to be quite ancient. I thought it would be interesting to mix all of my ideas and techniques together and create my own versions of these abstract ideas. They are all painted on some sort of translucent material, are depicted in the classical style of personifying abstract ideas as (usually nude) women, and all are wearing masks which I felt reflected their “character”. This is Anger. Au cours de mes recherches sur le tableau La Cène, j’ai découvert une tradition consistant à illustrer les Vices et les Vertus, tradition finalement assez ancienne. J’ai pensé alors qu’il serait intéressant de mélanger à la fois mes idées et mes techniques de peinture pour créer ma propre version de ces notions abstraites. Tous ces tableaux sont faits sur tissus translucides, décrivant de faÁon classique ces notions abstraites au travers d’un personnage féminin (habituellement nu), et portant toutes un masque reflétant leur “caractère”.
